HELLO! I'M SIOBHAN

As someone who has struggled with anxiety, depression, and OCD for many years, I understand the challenges that come with managing mental health. The feelings of frustration, exhaustion, and the constant ups and downs can be overwhelming. However, through my own journey, I discovered the power of creativity and self-care in managing my mental wellbeing. My many years working as a Mental Health Addictions Support Worker have given me the knowledge and experience to develop systems and tools that help individuals to maximize productivity, organization, and reduce stress.

Before I started working in the mental health sector, I pursued my passion for graphic design and fashion merchandising-marketing in college. Little did I know that this creative outlet would later become an essential part of my mental health toolkit. Designing allows me to explore my creativity, calming my mind and reducing stress levels.

Professional Authority & Lived Experience

My perspective on mental wellness is built on a foundation of both professional service and personal discipline. For over a decade, I served as a Mental Health Addictions Support Worker, navigating high-stakes environments that require both precision and human empathy. My professional history includes dedicated work with:

  • Crisis Intervention & Peer Support: Providing immediate counseling and support through the Canadian Mental Health Association.

  • Youth Advocacy: Teaching students from grades 5–12 about the complexities of child safety and human trafficking with the Children of the Street Society.

  • Front-Line Support: Working within high-density urban environments, including the Calgary Drop-In Centre, and Atira Women’s Resource Society in the Vancouver Downtown Eastiside, to support women fleeing violence and individuals navigating homelessness.

  • Addiction Recovery: Implementing mental health support systems within residential recovery settings to facilitate long-term stability.

Furthermore, my authority is grounded in 15 years of continuous sobriety. This personal journey has informed my commitment to a clean, focused lifestyle, free from alcohol, drugs, and caffeine. By combining 10 years of professional direct front-line (non-clinical) work with a decade and a half of lived experience, I offer tools and systems that are pragmatic, authentic, and proven in the real world.

A Holistic Approach to Mental Wellness

Living a clean life has been a crucial aspect of managing my mental health. I abstain completely from alcohol, drugs, smoking, and caffeine, focusing instead on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through daily morning 10,000-step walks and working out five days a week. By controlling the things I can, such as staying organized and disciplined, I’ve found that I can better cope with my own mental health.

However, I recognize that everyone’s path to mental wellness is unique. That’s why I created the Anxiety Stress Management Journal Planner: to provide a versatile tool that anyone can use to improve their quality of life, regardless of their specific circumstances, religion, culture, or personal beliefs. The planner journal offers a wide range of tools and techniques recommended by experts in psychology and mental health that individuals can choose from to cope with stress and anxiety in a way that works best for them.

Combining Passion and Purpose

My 10 years of experience as a Mental Health Addictions Support Worker, working with individuals facing severe mental illness and addiction, has given me a deep understanding of the importance of mental health support. Combining this experience with my personal struggles, I was inspired to create not just the Anxiety Stress Management Journal Planner, but an entire line of products designed to promote mental wellness.

From mental health planners to apparel and E-books, every product and tool is crafted with the intention of helping people to take control of their lives, their minds, and to spread mental health awareness. As someone passionate about mental health advocacy, I believe that by creating products that resonate with people’s experiences, we can foster a supportive community and break down the stigma surrounding mental health.
